On 27 October, delegates from 10 countries met online for the IHCO General Assembly. Prominent on the meeting’s agenda was the election of the Members of the Board and the President. Over the next four-year period, the Board will be made by Carlos Zarco from Spain as President; Ricardo López from Argentina and Hotaka Hara from Japan, as Vice-Presidents; and Gilberto Quinche from Colombia and Marcos Cunha from Brazil as Board Members.
The assembly welcomed a new member organisation. The Alliance Camerounaise des Coopératives de Santé joined the IHCO on behalf of the Coop-Cameroun, which recently became an ICA full member.
Delegates also approved the financial statement and discussed the work plan for 2022. Additionally, they shared the latest initiatives and developments of health cooperatives in their countries and how the pandemic has impacted their work over the past months.
